John M. Evans, M.D. is a medical dermatologist who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of complex medical dermatological conditions such as rashes caused by autoimmune disorders, severe atopic dermatitis (eczema) and severe psoriasis as well as the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer. He also offers patch testing for the diagnosis and treatment of allergic contact dermatitis, a condition caused by a skin allergy to substances in the environment.
Dr. Evans graduated summa cum laude from the University of Alabama in Huntsville with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. He then graduated magna cum laude from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham, Alabama. This was followed with a dermatology residency at the prestigious Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York, New York, where he completed training and served as a chief resident.
Dr. Evans is a member of the honorary medical society Alpha Omega Alpha, honorary engineering society Tau Beta Pi, and honor society Phi Kappa Phi is an active member in the American Academy of Dermatology. He is an author of over 10 poster or peer-reviewed publications and has been awarded numerous honors during the course of his undergraduate and graduate medical training.
Outside of dermatology, he enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter as well as traveling, restaurants, movies, and SEC football.
